The 1911 silent film L`inferno (The Hell) is Italy's inaugural full-length feature, loosely based on Inferno, the first canticle of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. It depicts Dante's journey through the Circles of Hell, accompanied by the poet Virgil.
An incredible work of cinematography and special effects, featuring Satan himself devouring people alive, eerie devils, all enhanced by live music performed by Thomas Quill.
