This 1915 movie is sure to captivate audiences of all ages, from kids to adults and even to film-loving potheads.
It's among the first film adaptations of Lewis Carroll's classic novel, Alice in Wonderland. Directed by W.W. Young, it stars Viola Savoy as Alice and Herbert Rice as the White Rabbit. The film includes scenes inspired by the poem 'Father William' and features illustrations by John Tenniel.
The story begins with Alice and her sister enjoying a picnic after which Alice drifts off to sleep and embarks on a dream adventure in a whimsical world filled with talking animals and animated playing cards.

We are delighted to have been invited by the Clifden Film Society to perform live accompaniment during a screening of Buster Keaton’s cult classic, Sherlock Jr.! The screening is part of the Clifden Arts Festival, which needs no introduction.
Sherlock Jr. is a 1924 American silent comedy film starring and directed by Buster Keaton and written by Clyde Bruckman, Jean Havez, and Joseph A. Mitchell. It features Kathryn McGuire, Joe Keaton, and Ward Crane. In 1991, Sherlock Jr. was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Our first screening
The Birth of Cinema is a silent mini-documentary from 2021, directed by Adam Scheffler, with live music performed on a piano by our resident pianists — Desiree Oduah and Siochain Fahy.
