57 Years Ago, on February 1st, Buster Keaton Passed Away

· What is Up,The Old News

57 years ago, on February 1, 1966, Buster Keaton passed away.

Next to Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd, Keaton was one of the icons of the silent cinema era. He was a screenwriter, director, and actor. He created stunt scenes in his films, in which he participated, often risking his own life.

You can see it in our cinema at 60 Dominick Street Lower in Galway. This Saturday at 8:30 PM we are showing "One Week", a silent short comedy written and directed by Buster Keaton and Edward F. Cline. He will star alongside Sybil Seely and Joe Roberts.

Live musical accompaniment by Siochain Fahy, our resident pianist.
