Silent Cinema presents Oh So Pretty! Concerts -- a series of music and film events showing musicians and silent films from around the globe. We are beginning with Argentinian tango at its finest. Plus, the Argentinian silent film screening with live musical accompaniment by the same artists!

Vito Sputnik is an Argentinian instrumental tango duo formed by Agustina Taborda on bandoneón and Ernesto Inouye on piano. They are part of a new generation of tango musicians from the city of Rosario. Their repertoire takes up the compositions of the great Orchestras of the first half of the 20th century: Osvaldo Pugliese, Juan D’Arienzo, and Carlos di Sarli, among others. These vigorous and passionate pieces were made for social dancing, and Vito Sputnik perpetuates this legacy.

The show premiered on April 29. It turned out to be a great success. Tickets sold out a week before the event, so we decided to continue the hottest show in town in the coming weeks.

It refers to similar artistic and entertainment events from the 1920s, the cabaret clubs of Berlin, and the Weimar Republic.

A star of the night is Miss Caoimhe May, who sings then (and not only) hits, dances, and performs an alluring striptease with the piano accompaniment of Mila Maia and Agustina Taborda. Between her performances, the first adult silent films are shown, with our musicians' musical accompaniment.

The show is very naughty, and therefore admission is for adults only!

An hour-long screening of the funniest moments in silent films. Performed by Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Stan Laurel, and Oliver Hardy. Plus, two silent shorts by our film studio - that is `Job Interview` and `Odyssey`. Yes, we are a film studio, too! All this with live accompaniment performed by our resident pianist - Desiree Oduah.
